Hannah's casting for her first DOCband--she screamed for the entire 10 minutes and then fell asleep in the tub! The casting is no picnic, but not too bad if you're prepared. I fully expected Hannah to scream the whole time, which she did, but some babies don't cry at all. It's quick, and well worth it in the end. A bottle, pacifier, or lollipop can help. Hannah ended up having to be casted 4 times in all.

She's still happy here!

2-Finishing the back

The front was easier because she could lay down, but sitting with the cast is hard because it's very heavy.

3- Pulling the back off

They use vaseline in the seam so that the front and back don't dry together!

4- It's off!

Whew!

5- Getting Happy Already

She stopped crying pretty quickly and was back to her old self.

6- Tub Time!

Cranial Tech has everything you need for bathing after the casting. Hannah loved the bubbles and we had quite the time trying to get the plaster off her!

She tuckered herself right out after all that crying!
