This became the old standby when there wasn't a holiday or anything special to do for a theme. I like this the best because it matched with the most of her clothes!
Some of the many decorations on Hannah's bands. I always used stickers and a few coats of glossy modpodge over the whole band. I experiemented a ton, and found that this was what worked best and gave me flexibility to easily change the design. My favoritie sticker brands are Me And My Big Ideas (MAMBI) and the Susy Ratto Brush Letters by Stickopotamus. Both of these brands are available at www.scrapbookbargain.com . Decorating the helmet makes it look less medical and having your baby's name on it makes it an easy ice breaker for people to ask questions about it (as opposed to just staring!).

These stickers (aside from the letters) are actually paper backed because I couldn't find any patriotic clear backed ones.
This was the compromise between my husband and I on doing a "football" helmet!
Elmo is sporting the undecorated band, the Care Bear in a Thanksgiving theme, and Hannah wearing her favorite cat and dog themed band.
